About
Jon Corpuz, IDSA, is an industrial designer at Surfaceink. Currently, he leads projects for clients that range from start-ups to industry giants like Intel. Previously, he worked for Nook, designing eReaders and device accessories.
Jon graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design in 2007. He has received awards from IDEA, Red Dot, and CES Innovations. He also holds various patents.
Giving back to the design community and being active in it, is also a priority for him. He is currently the Vice Chair of the IDSA San Jose Chapter (which he and a colleague resurrected). Jon also volunteers mentoring to SJSU industrial design students for their senior projects, as well as advising for a summer project in 2020, which they focused on redesigning masks as a response to the pandemic.
When not immersed in design, Jon and his niece (Kuailin Studio) enjoy creating and selling their stickers via Etsy and hope to one day sell at local maker faires. He also continues doing commissioned illustrations, as well as collecting rare, vintage video games and consoles.
